Anomaly Linking
Anomaly Linking lets you connect the same anomaly across multiple inspections so you can track how damage changes over time. Linked anomalies form an anomaly group, and each link records how the anomaly progressed since the previous inspection. This helps you decide which anomalies need to be prioritized for repair.
Before you begin
Anomaly Linking is available for Wind, Utilities, and Properties inspections. It is not yet available for Solar.
To link anomalies, the asset must have at least two inspections, and you must be in Compare Images mode. Linking is available to users who can create and edit anomalies (Technician, Engineer, and Admin roles).
Key terms
• Anomaly Group: A set of linked anomalies representing the same damage across inspections.
• Group Anomaly ID: A shared ID assigned to every anomaly in a group. It stays the same as new anomalies are added. Each anomaly also keeps its own Anomaly ID.
• Anomaly Progress: How the anomaly changed since the previous inspection. Required when linking.
• Progress Notes: Optional notes describing the change.
Link two anomalies
The progress and notes are stored on the more recent of the two anomalies. If both anomalies you select are already in the same group, the edit dialog opens instead so you can update the existing progress and notes.
Anomaly Progress labels
• No Change: The anomaly looks the same as the previous inspection.
• Minor: Small change since the previous inspection.
• Moderate: Noticeable change since the previous inspection.
• Significant: Major change since the previous inspection.
• Repair Failed: A repair was made, but the damage has returned or was not fixed.
• Repair Incomplete: A repair was started but not fully completed.

Linking rules
Anomalies can only be linked to an anomaly from a different inspection, and they must belong to the same asset or component.
• Wind: same component (e.g. the same blade)
• Utilities: same asset
• Properties: same asset
Additional rules
• Each group can contain only one anomaly per inspection.
• An anomaly can link to at most one earlier and one later anomaly.
• Anomalies of different types can be linked, since damage can evolve into a different anomaly type over time.
• Internal and external blade inspections from the same date can be linked in the same group.
Remove an anomaly from a group
If you remove an anomaly from the middle of a group, you are asked to update the progress and notes between the anomalies that are now next to each other. The removed link's progress and notes no longer appear in the group. If only one anomaly is left in a group, it no longer has a Group Anomaly ID.

Deleting a linked anomaly
If you delete an anomaly that belongs to a group, a warning lets you know it is part of a group. Once deleted, it is removed from the group.
View anomaly history
Open the anomaly details and select the anomaly history to see every anomaly in its group, in order from newest to oldest, with the inspection you are viewing in focus. For each anomaly you can see:
• Image(s) of the anomaly, side by side
• Anomaly details such as severity, classification, and size
• Anomaly progress and notes since the previous inspection
• For Wind, the change in x and y size
• For Properties, the change in perimeter and area
Each image can be zoomed, adjusted, and rotated independently. Rotation is not saved after you close the history.
Note: Anomaly history is different from the History tab, which shows status changes for a single anomaly.

Find linked anomalies on the Anomalies page
The Anomalies page and inspection Anomalies table include a Group Anomaly ID column. You can search by Group Anomaly ID to find every anomaly in a group, and the column is included in CSV exports when it is shown in the table.

Good to know
• Linked anomaly history is not yet included in PDF reports.
• Anomalies created on the orthomosaic cannot be linked.
• Linking is only available in Compare Images mode.
• Linking does not automatically find damage that was missed in a previous inspection.
